EBONY WASHINGTON

About Me

Ebony Washington is a writer, actress, and filmmaker born and raised in Port Chester, New York. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Film and Television Production with a focus on Television Writing. While studying at SUNY Purchase’s School of Film and Media Studies, she worked as production staff on The Maury Povich show and Orange is the New Black. After taking a writing class in New York with showrunner, Krista Vernoff, she relocated to Los Angeles in 2019 to become her Executive Assistant and served as Writers' Assistant on Grey's Anatomy for 3 seasons.

Ebony writes one-hour dramedies/cross genres set in exciting worlds about characters finding themselves in a world that tries so damn hard to define who they are, expecting them to become what is deemed "standard." She wrote and directed several short films and is now editing and co-producing her first documentary.  She is also a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo and an orange belt in Krav Maga. She enjoys drawing and painting in her free time and an annual binge of Desperate Housewives.

A member of IATSE Local 871, Ebony walked the picket lines for 7 months in solidarity with WGA and SAG-AFTRA to fight for a fair contract. She is repped by Stagecoach Entertainment.
