EBONY WASHINGTON
About Me
Born and raised in Port Chester, New York, Ebony Washington is a writer and filmmaker who brings a sharp eye, martial arts precision, and a taste for bold storytelling to everything she creates. She holds an MFA from Sacred Heart University and cut her teeth at SUNY Purchase while gaining early industry experience on the crews of The Maury Povich Show and Orange Is the New Black.
She spent several years in the Grey’s Anatomy room, serving as Executive Assistant to showrunner Krista Vernoff before stepping into the role of Writers’ Assistant for four seasons. A rising voice in television, Ebony was named one of just three fellows in the 2024 Warner Bros. Discovery Access Writers Program, and has served as a screenwriting mentor to emerging filmmakers at the Chelsea Film Festival for the past two years.
Ebony specializes in one-hour dramedies where workplace ambition, family drama, and soap collide. She builds bold, high-pressure worlds centered on complex women pushing back against societal bounds, grounding dynamic arenas with sharp humor and real emotional stakes.
Outside the writers' room, Ebony holds a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo, a green belt in Krav Maga, and is a self-taught visual artist.
She is represented by Stagecoach Entertainment.
